Have you experienced this in the US? Asking Indians.

I'm Indian and these strange incidents happened in less than 3 years. In grad school, my first female friend and a date was a girl from China, seeing us together, a stranger White American classmate asked: "are you two together"? "How long do you guys know each other"? (The first time a stranger asked such question, we didn't bother!) At my job, I have a teammate from China, one weekend we're out for lunch while waiting for the table and talking, a random white American dude in front of us turns around and abruptly asks "are you two together"? (that was weird!) The third time, I was in TSA line at the airport, an Asian girl standing next to me lost her driver's license and I was helping her to find her license in the line, and once again some white American douche spits the same question "are you two together"? And no other question. (That was so fcuking annoying as if the dude can't digest the reality of Indian talking to an Asian). That girl didn't hear him and was more stressed about finding her license. And I ignored answering him! And very recently, I was in the plane, next to an old Asian girl (of course 20 years younger looking than any non-Asian women) and we were talking about the Airlines food menu for purchase, and then some psychopath white American dude right behind our seat, abruptly asks, are you two together? I felt like spitting on his face. WTF is wrong with white American dudes?

After the first two times, story is BS Cause it is weird to think the follow up if you answer “yes” or “no” What is the follow up usually? Also white people dont care if you are with an Asian girl. Asians and Indians do. This is a sad trolling attempt “and we were talking about the airlines food menu for purchase, and then some psychopath white american right behind our seat, abruptly asks, are you two together? “ Such pure steaming pile of bullshit Ps: yes yes India is in Asia.

Non Americans are white too An Indian is technically an Asian If you end up making a female/male uncomfortable by any noticeable way, a logical ice breaker could be are you guys together I am unsure if American white dudes have a problem with Indians in general

^ this actually explains it

Are you two together doesn’t mean that you guys are dating. Just that are you accompanying him/her. Not sure how was asking this innocent question racist?

But why would someone randomly and abruptly ask that question. Most people don’t speak to strangers unless the situation warrants. I will find it weird too if someone asked me this question out of nowhere. If someone asked it in plane because they were looking to swap seats, well then it makes sense.

What's wrong with asking the question "are you two together?" Those people just wanted to know if you and your friend know each other. It's a simple question and you are taking it out of context. You automatically assume people who ask that question had bad intention. If you want to spit at someone, spit at yourself. You are pathetic and insecure. You are prejudice against American white dudes. You are the racist in this whole BS story.

While I think OP’s post is BS, it is none of a stranger’s business to know if two people are together.
