Title says it all. I sort of regret choosing js after realizing this round exists. Update: For those who don’t know, stripe on-site has a bug bash round where you have to clone an open source repository and find and fix bugs. They want to see your troubleshooting skills. I have done most of my troubleshooting/testing, etc. using C#, but I always pick js or ts for interviews. I didn’t know this round existed so now I’m not sure if I’ll be comfortable troubleshooting js code. Tc: 180k Yoe: 5
I did. My advice - don’t choose JS unless you are fullstack dev.
Yeah I don’t think there is a way back , unfortunately :( How did the interview go? Can you share a random open source project written in js that I can run on my laptop? I found a couple repos but I can’t run anything in the debug mode.
I got offer but down-leveled because of the bug squash round. Had couple other offers already so I just said no to the recruiter. They’ll give a repo and you can follow the ReadMe there to setup and run/debug. I use VSCode as IDE which is more than enough for the interview.
Tell your recruiter you want to switch to the other language for that slot. Do this before the interview because they line up interviewers who have experience in your language and prepare the problem in advance. You probably can’t just show up at the interview and ask to switch then. Stripe wants to see you at your best during the interview. Don’t use a language you’re less familiar with “just because.”
What's strip big bash? Why'd you strip? What kind of job is it?
