Hello blind, Do health tech (and/or life sciences tech) Product Management careers have the same salary ceiling as regular tech PMs? Can you expect to make similar TC eg Verily PM vs Google PM at the director level? It’s a field that’s more interesting to me, but want to make sure it’s got sufficient growth opportunities vs just going full-depth into tech.
Fwiw I can confirm you’d make FAANG equivalent $ at Oscar. And, anecdotally, lots of the people here actually care about making an impact in healthcare which sounds like it’d be a draw for you (I don’t, personally)
Excellent! Yes that’s pretty much exactly what I was thinking about. Made a job change (lower paying) to PM at a digital health startup, so hoping it pays off long term in the PM role and in the healthtech space
That’s great. I did the same i.e. job change from a lower paying job (consulting) to PM @ Oscar. Is it not clear that it will pay off long term in the healthtech space in PM role at wherever you’re at?

Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
What do you mean regular tech PMs? There’s a huge salary gap between FAANG, cloud computing and proper techie stuff vs other PM positions
Ah, thanks for the insight, still learning about the industry. So I understand, you’re saying that FAANG/cloud/proper techie (what is this?) are in a class of their own compared to other PM positions? What is included in other, we talking about physical good PM?
Other is still tech, but on another industry vertical that isn’t tech. Eg. Retail, Banks, Telco, etc
