I don't know about Apple, but as someone who is in hell, I can tell you it's starting to get boiling. However, about the job market - it's getting cold.

I should have chosen to hide the company name as I left them 5 years ago. I don't stay much in touch anymore so cannot say. They built a new office in the UK not too far ago. Most of my colleagues are still there from what I see on LinkedIn. So I guess not too bad compared to the rest of the market but I may be wrong. Best is not to get too comfortable as layoffs can always happen.

No company avoids layoffs forever (or even for more than 6-12 months). The only people who will be surprised about Apple layoffs are those who drank the kool-aid and joined the cult.
