Just got a remote offer from a small hedge fund, I am from Eastern Europe, TC 7k$ per month (that’s quite a lot in my country don’t laugh) for a junior dev. Should I take it?
It depends on the quality of the hedge fund. If you're talking top of the line ones then other tech companies don't have shit on them and you should take it. If it is some new one and you don't get a massive bump in salary it may not be worth.
Is it vatic labs?
If yes, dm me op
No. Stay with Meta
Why
Meta is still recognized as one of the best tech places and will give you more opportunities to grow and find new jobs. Brand names counts more than you think specially early in career(I could be wrong about this). Even the biggest hedge fund will give fewer growth opportunities.

Companies that pay as much as meta
I wouldn’t - Make the rich people richer and poor poorer - risk your FAANG job - after hedge funds it’s hard to go back to normal tech - I am from EE myself, and I kinda don’t trust the job market there 🙁
Also, with a FAANG you will soon get this salary either way
I just transitioned from Hedge Fund to meta with no issues. Only got a 1k payrise (+equity) as I was top of band for meta so they do pay competitive. I think OP should make informed decision that it’s likely WLB balance will be worse at HF but there is a lot of learning opportunity as they will give you lots of responsibility early on in your career. Pay can be lucrative and more cash heavy depending on the firm too
