Hi, I am a senior in college and I currently have 2 full time offers. Business Technology Solution Analyst @ Deloitte. 90k base in Bay Area AI and Data Science analyst ( FAST) @ JP Morgan Chase 95k base in Chicago. I have discussed pros and cons in depth with friends and family but thought I should consult Blind to hopefully get some passionate opinions. Main questions I am interested in: 1. What job will get me more interviews after 2 years? 2. Work life balance between 2 jobs 3. Sf vs Chicago quality of living #tech #finance #newgrad #deloitte #jpmorganchase
JPM is better for your life
Why @ rocket central
1. What job will get me more interviews after 2 years? - Data Science job 2. Work life balance between 2 jobs - Business Technology Solution Analyst 3. Sf vs Chicago quality of living - Sf if you are going to live at home. Chicago - if u want to explore life
I think I need to keep interviewing
From the small sample of people I met at conferences, my impression is JPMC have better ML/DS people and investment. But not certain.
Consulting is so different than anything else you will do. If you think you'll be good at politics and BSing to clients, go for Deloitte, it's more prestigious. But if you are more focused on doing the right thing and owning projects, go for JP. Although if I were you, I'd keep interviewing. Also depends on the teams at these companies. Actually, I'd pick JP. Data Science and AI will take you very far.
Interesting. I thought JPM would be more prestigious
Try to find another offer in the field you want in SF, since you can find cheaper options for housing than most.
90k in the Bay Area is going to be tough. That would go way further in Chicago
I am from the Bay Area so I could live at home to save money
You could but I think you will have a lot more fun in Chicago and exploring. You won't save as much. Also both these roles are different so its hard to compare
