I'm an L4 at Amazon with 2 YOE. TC: 172K Have offers from Lyft and Google and am not sure what to choose. Lyft: T4 TC: Base: 165K, Stock: 115K/year Team: Like the team. Google: L3 TC: Base: 135K, Stock: 65K/year 15% bonus Team: Kind of interesting. I'd take this because who says no to Google? Haven't negotiated yet. Am very conflicted. Any input would help!
Lyft giving 280k TC for 2 yoe? Ride sharing market is doing terrible as you can see. I wouldn’t risk it.
Had a competing offer from a startup that I used to negotiate. Original was 250K
Negotiate with google. Great place to be in during covid.
How long did team matching at G take ?
Written offer from Google? Can you share team?
Think of the ethics of a company that is hiring new employees when they just laid-off a 1000 employees one week ago. I would never join lyft for this reason
Baffling really.
Can you share when you got the written offer? I’m waiting on SVP approval for mine
What level
L3 SWE
Sup charmedone lolol
Joining Lyft right now during a recession with recent layoffs 🤔
FYI: if you are not cleared by SVP for Google, you might wait a long time. Ask your recruiter about that. Which org are you matched to?
SRE
If Lyft laid off people last week, but are still hiring, can these laid off people apply to those open positions and have a better chance of getting hired?
I was impacted by the layoffs. The FAQ says you are only eligible for re-hire if you met expectations or higher on the previous 2 review cycles -- they run every 6 months.
Ya layoff of the people whose stock based compensation is currently being vested and hire new people, who have to wait for at least 1 year for the RSU to vest... And keep laying off people after an year or so to keep this rotation going... Classic move ..
Anything buy Lyft. Did you hear about the layoffs?
I did. How likely are they to have a second round though?
They're "Uber likely" for a second layoff round.
