I have a FB offer but the recruiter is super low balling me with an L5 offer and a TC that's below TC at current FAANG. FB’s low ball offer - 180/15% bonus/ 300k stock She needs details on the current scope, previous scope, detailed resume to be able to go back to debrief committee and negotiate a L6 for me? Is this expected? I’ve already shared some info with her but don't want to be disclose so much about my current level and work details to be able to justify new offer. How should I go about negotiations? YOE - 15 Total and 11-12 direct PM experience current TC - 550k Think L6 is justified? #productmanager productmanager update - I was able to bump up to get an L6 offer. is it reasonale to ask for 750K - 800k TC?
Your current comp is 550, I don’t think sharing your current comp should be a problem. But, sounds like you are looking for a top end L6 offer if you want to beat your current comp and make it worth the move.
Exactly, FB wlb and culture sucks..level/ product scale / comp is the only motivator to switch. Need to be worth it. 550k tc includes stock appreciation during the pandemic.
WLB is a hit and a miss. My team has very good WLB.
Lol @username.
Why? :)
You were inittogrow but you are now outitforTC 🤣
Why you leaving btw?
Got passed over for promo, eng counterparts not supportive/good sponsors to grow to the next level. I could start over with a new team internally but that puts me back to square 1.
Yeah. Good luck with your next endeavors. Were you aiming for a director level promotion?
Sounds like you barely passed the interview? Seems like the recruiter is asking for info to build a case. But in this scenario, it will be a long stretch to go from low ball l5 to max l6 lol....
I see your point. The interview feedback was all positive. The recruiter didn't mention any negatives as such.
Question is if it's ok to share detailed resume, past scope etc?
300K RSU total or per year? total right? otherwise, this is definitely not L5 money...
Yea, total across 4 years
Oh wow! That’s an L4 high band offer at FB.
Not for L4 PM role. It’s definitely a L5 comp for PM, but yeah a low band one.
Show data points. Proof of other offers or your internal comp. that will help them get you more
Yep, that’s the plan. Would you recommend sharing current level, scope, details etc ?
I do have a competing GPM offer from fintech pre-ipo
Is is technical PM or non technical PM role ?
Non tech PM
Then just subtract 10-15% from what you see and hear online
Why would you want to cut your TC in half?
They’re quoting $150k of stock appreciation.
That looks super lowballed. I interviewed for a L6 design role and the offer was 230 / 20% / 500 over 4 years.
