Hello Blinders! Just got a verbal offer from my recruiter - 130k base + 175k RSU/4 yrs. The recruiter also gave me min, mid and max numbers for the P3 band and based on those numbers, it seems like my offer is on the higher side of P3. How strict are the max numbers on these bands? Job is for Fremont, in the General Assembly division. Title is Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. Background: 13 yoe, Master's in Mechanical Engineering, did pretty well in the interviews and written test, good feedback overall. Any tips on how to negotiate this offer, given I'm already near the high end of the band? Edit 2: for those following the thread, just got an update on my offer. They bumped me to a staff manufacturing engineer role and offered 145 base + 350 stock. I accepted gladly. #teslaoffer #teslamotors Current TC: 🥜
I was told there’s some flexibility outside of the band, but they have to get director level approval so they only want to ask once.
Do you know what the P3 band numbers are? Do they vary a lot between teams for the same role? I'm getting different numbers from different folks
In the spring it was 115-123 for base, not sure if that’s sense changed or dependent on group.
Seems to be very group/department dependent. I heard a max of 150 for P3 in a different dept. Thanks for the figures!
Would you please share with me about the written test for Tesla? It’s really hard to get information about it. I am on non tech role.
You’re getting lowballed. The range thing is BS. If you have competing offer, ask for higher base. If not ask for RSUs. RSUs are more important as that is pre-tax net worth.
What would be the appropriate amount then? What should I be targetting?
