How much are they valuing the options for?
Every year I get a new 1y grant for 200k @ whatever the current valuation is. So some of my grants have gone down in value but I know that just means my next grant will be way bigger. Stripe's ARG gets a lot of hate but it does well at smoothing the variability of my equity component.
Most of the people are from stripe. Are you guys from east or west coast?
Since options can’t be sold, their real TC will be revealed once they go public. Could be much higher or lower.
East Coast. Not options, RSUs. And if you follow tech news, there is a tender offer happening soonish. We'll be able to sell vested shares. However, regardless of how low the price goes, I get the same dollar worth amount of stock every year, meaning I don't profit very much from the stock going up and I don't lose very much from the stock going down.
The taxes might be killing your folks. My TC is just 150k and I’m already pulling my hair out looking at how much taxes I’m paying
At an yearly level, how much % do you pay towards taxes?
I think the average was roughly 33%. The marginal rate is 41% for me currently
How much of it is stolen by the government?
Junior at non-profit / 1 YOE (still in school) / 120k cad
Not bad at all - especially for a non-profit. Unless you’re talking about a tech company with no profits lol.
Woah are they hiring?
