So basically it's a known-fact that Paris tech salaries are lower than the average in other European cities (like Berlin, Amsterdam, etc). Yet recently I came across multiple tech offers based in Paris for DE (Data Engineer) role with salaries similar to those I usually find in Berlin/Amsterdam: 75k€ to 85k€ (for a DE with 3 YoE). These are mostly posted by startups/scaleups (examples: Brut, Voodoo, PriceHubble) and I started feeling that I'm missing on a chance to get a 50% salary bump. Are these expected salaries for startups/scaleups? And if so what are some other companies that have engineering roles in Paris and offer similar salaries? YoE: 3 (including 6-month internship) TC: 55K€ #tech #europe #paris #tc #dataengineer #startup
You could get those salaries if you're doing extremely well in the interviews. I can think of Alan, Datadog, Criteo, Liftoff.
Been waiting for a Data Engineer opening at Alan for a while! For Datadog most of the reviews on Glassdoor are terrible so never wanted to take the risk. Took a look at Criteo a year ago (they were paying 60k€ - 70k€) but didn't want to apply because the business model seemed unsustainable (they were having problems with Facebook and still relying on cookies) but seems like things changed now. Never heard of Liftoff, thanks for mentioning it! I'm currently interviewing with Yubo - salary should be between 80k€ and 90k€ if all goes well. Fingers crossed!
Well, salary on Glassdoor are not that accurate because usually in these companies you also get some RSU (free shares) which is not négligeable, so I think that's why Datadog seems low. For Criteo it will depend on the level you apply for, but yeah if it's senior position the total package would be around 80k. Never heard of Yubo though! Good luck with them!
