Hi everyone, I work in CPTO area and my husband in San Mateo. We are currently renting and plan on buying a house next year. We are first time home buyers and trying to learn more about the real estate market. Came across new construction homes in Hayward for ~900k for 2100sq ft. Question is, is it better to buy a house in south san jose (smaller, older ) for same price or go ahead with the new home options in Hayward? I personally feel buying at Hayward is good as there is potential for growth. Any thoughts that could help us?
Kids? School?
No kids. Don’t care about the school district for next 5 years
It’s ghetto area
Hmm yeah. But how does that affect?
Lived in south SJ before absolutely sucks.. moved to Pleasanton def more for the money, and commute is the same with traffic anyway even though it’s a little further
Newer home in san Jose communication hills is ~200k more than the price range for similar houses in Hayward.
Also, is buying a home in the bay area a good option right now?
Did you end up buying? How’s Hayward now? I’m thinking of moving to a more affordable area in the Bay Area
No ended up buying in Berryessa
