How are VPs and above hired?
Does anyone know how the VP and above level are hired? Are they contacted by headhunters on LinkedIn? Or are they contacted in person at conferences etc? (I know they have a huge network which helps, but outside of their network, how are they contacted first? ) What would their interviews be like?

Their interviews are likely their resume. When you are that high of level at a public Comapny it’s probably pretty easy to see how well the org you lead is doing. Also the network comments are very true, at Amazon it seems like a lot of high level employees did an MBA at Cornell/Princeton/Harvard/etc. so I assume they knew each other from there.
