How bad is Job Hopping in the Software Industry

I have about 1.5 years of experience trying to better myself and my TC. I was at my first company after college for about 1 year before half my team either got laid off, furloughed, or left voluntarily due to the pandemic. I am currently working for another company (located in another state) remotely. I don't quite feel as happy as I was with my first company, but I feel my current TC (80K) is low. I took the job because I didn't want to stay unemployed for too long. Aside from the TC itself, I don't like my current team, and wake up on Mondays with extremely low motivation to get through the week. I have been at this company for about 5 months now. Given my current work experience history (1 year job and 5 month job), how likely are employers (specifically FANNG) to entertain the idea of giving me an interview? What are some reasons (besides money) I can say for the reason why I want to switch? Given my work history does it make it seem like I am a job hopper? I was laid off my first job and am unhappy at my current job. #engineering #software #swe #faang

Stability is a good reason. You can state the pandemic led to layoffs.

If you write your resume well, you shod be fine getting an interview with faang. Ofc rn, many arent hiring for 1.5 yoe.

You need to come across as someone who will be done job hopping if you join them. No one wants to hire someone who will leave within 2 years. Make it clear that you're confident this next job can be one you'll stick with

Is this the expectation at Amazon? Why do they backload their stocks then, 5/15/40/40?

They backload the stocks to discourage leaving in the first two years. 5/15/40/40. In the last few years they've upped their sign on bonuses so it's less of a difference now. But when I joined the sign on bonuses were much lower so the year 3+4 jump (then subsequent cliff) was way more pronounced.
