Peaceful Protest Hasn’t Worked and Has Been Met With Aggression.
I thought I had a kinda/sorta decent TC (at least for the Boston area, non FAANG), but based on reports I'm seeing here, I'm having doubts. What do you guys think? Position - Senior SW Engr Base - 134k Bonus - 15% RSU - one time 40k, no refreshes YoE - 8, MS in CS Ideally, what TC should I be targeting in Boston?
You could easily get 200k as an SDE2 at amazon. And that will include refreshers so your TC stays at 200k. If you can get an SDE 3 offer, you are looking at closer to 300k.
Buddy this is the same as my package, except I don't have RSUs and I have 10 YoE with Master
Dang this makes me feel better about myself. I thought I was grossly underpaid. 6 yoe 117k no RSUs. Thanks for making my day guys.
My hubby SWE: he's wfh in RI (gov contractor) trying to convince him to join me in the commute to Boston for the $$, but he's not as driven as I. $115k, no rsu, 12 Yeo, undergrad in CS only. Amzn tried recruiting him last year, but he didn't get past the loop.
I'm an engineering manager so I don't thing my tc would be relevant. I do have a senior IC on my team with a similar profile. He makes 145k, 10% bonus with about 50k RSUs (volatile stock) and yearly/promotion based refreshers.
Jeez. Thanks for all the replies, guys. Time to update the resume!
Your base salary is probably reasonable, you’re just at a company that doesn’t give much equity. One time 40K RSU is very low compared to other companies. I’ve been getting RSU refreshers bigger than that every year for many years.
