There is nothing intrinsic about AI that requires very expensive GPU computations. It's just that the current techniques are computationally expensive. I don't think the market is pricing in the risk that a new technique can be like a pinprick to the Nvidia bubble. It's like you're enriching the spades company during a gold rush but eventually gold isn't really going to be mined with spades.
> There is nothing intrinsic about AI that requires very expensive GPU computations. Do you know what a neural net is?
There's nothing intrinsic that says that neural nets are the only way to do ML. Isn't one of Sam Altman's pet peeves that there is too much investment in neural nets these days at the expense of completely different approaches that can totally disrupt AI. Making neural nets faster could literally be like making the horse buggy faster.
What about decision trees then? What if you want you want to gauge next 5 best possible chess moves? Most of the AI algorithms need more computational power unless you are talking about regressions and stuff.
The market does not act rationally. It is over valued but when it will pop is hard to tell, could be on earnings or in 5 years.
I always find it funny when people without any financial knowledge say market does not act rationally. 99% of the times market is very efficient and rational otherwise there would be a Buffet in every block.
The absence of a Warren Buffett on every block doesn't imply that markets are truly efficient. It just means that the markets are efficient with regard to widely known information and beliefs. But widely known information is not necessarily complete or accurate. Indeed, every time the stock price moves wildly, it means that the widely known information on the previous day was incorrect. It's not like Nvidia wasn't worth what it is today a month ago. It always was.
Cuz we’re fucking dope. Jensen will lead us all to the promised land (of fat RSU and ESPP stacks)
Your tiktok is streaming because of nvidia cheapset in backend, LoL
OP is right! There is nothing intrinsic about AI that requires very expensive GPU computations. OP isn’t expensive GPU powered. OP, will you share with us the better way to do AI?
with pen and paper
@rajesh OP. If nueral net is not the answer and it's some other algorithm, nvidia wins even bigger because everyone else like Meta, Amazon, groq you name it have somewhat reasonable nueral net accelerator. Gpu is much more general super computer then all these efforts I mentioned above
Nancy Pelosi bought tons of calls. You wanna take the opposite bet? Be my guest.
Nvidia can easily pass 10T in next 10 years and kill rest of mag7 that are legacy going forward
Depends on how long ur outs are gonna be. :) nvidia is on fire unless their earnings is a bust
Their earnings being good seems priced in
Yeah no matter how good their earnings are the stock price is likely to go off a ledge the next day
