I recently applied for DE jobs at a few companies: - via referral: Facebook, Uber, LinkedIn - without referral, with a brief cover letter: DoorDash, Roblox, Docusign Results: - passed FB virtual onsite - scheduled virtual onsites with Docusign and Roblox - a bit slower communication with LinkedIn but scheduling a tech screen - no communication and instant “thank you not a fit” from DoorDash - a similar “thank you not a fit” from Uber in about a month Very similar job descriptions, identical resumes. Just started reading Kahneman's Noise so it shouldn’t be a big surprise. But I though that resume screening is a semiautomated process with a reduced space for human induced noise. Thoughts? TC $240k
Sounds legit
Just a question.... Are you also posting your resumes on the various tech sites and job search engines? Dice, Glassdoor, The Ladders, etc. I've found for me Dice has been the best bet.
No, I just applied for specific roles.
+1
Based on my current experience: With referral, there's around 80%chance to get a call Without referral, about 40%
