Any rough idea how each job function was affected? Trying to mentally prepare for the days ahead :(
Yeah, I suspect. But why would swe not put it out publicly. The layoffs were not performance based
It’s common to feel shame about being laid off. Other companies don’t know all the details of every layoff, or how much of one was performance based. You are also much more likely to get lowballed if you’re coming from a layoff because they know you’re more likely to accept an offer.
Some marketing folks and small % of design was also affected. Managers in those functions included.
Based on the public list, it looks largely recruiting, ops and other functions. Very limited PMs abd SWE. But that list is slef reported and not the beat source
I know several engineers who are not on the public list whereas every recruiter I know impacted was on there right away. Recruiting was still more impacted but I think many engineers are trying to not draw attention to having been laid off.
“Ops” = office mangers, HR, facilities, etc?
