I feel like sending a resume out into their respective job portal is as good as throwing it out a window and hoping someone sees it, or am I too jaded? How did you get your resume seen?
You ducking prepare for it
Referral and well written resume. For Amazon, you don’t really need referrals.
The first key was having *strong* referrals. Second to a solid resume and good communication/behavioral skills.
I got callbacks from Google and Amazon just from applying on their job portal.
Surprising. I didn't hear even after referrals.
my resume doesn't suck
I’ve gotten thru fang with just resume. It’s a one page resume too. Not one of these 8 pagers I get see
8 page resumes are not read past the 2nd page. Imagine the emails they would send!
Recruiters on LinkedIn messaging inbound. Amazon / Facebook / Google actively hunt for people.
Google recruiter reached to me on LinkedIn. While waiting for offer, I applied on FB’s portal and told them they need to be fast if interested in me because I have coming offer from Google. Then, FB recruiter called me the next day.
How did you "tell" them before the fb recruiter even called you?
I remember I can add some notes in portal during application.
Linkedin recruiter, but how I really got into is "Leetcode"
I applied on the portal with no referral.

An Amazon recruiter messaged me randomly on LinkedIn. I was a new grad working at a non tech Fortune 500. I interviewed with minimal prep (this was 6 years ago) and got an offer.
Same except I was fresh out of the military and working tech as a gov contractor. Take note, this was after I had applied at amazon so sending your resume in may get the ball rolling!
