How do I move to next level as SWE?
Senior SWE here. I feel like I am not driving conversation enough I was driving last mid year but this year execution has been a piece of garbage. I only know how to talk. My tickets roll over each sprint and I feel like i lost trust in my manager Now I’m getting instructions on what to do. Like wtf??? I see other SWE taking over and flawless execution. What should I do? I need to move to next level. #swe #career #engineering #software

Buddy, I don’t know you so I don’t know if you’re expressing burnout, or if you’ve just been promoted beyond your depth, but these are not problems a senior engineer should be having. Take a break, seriously, if you need. Burnout is real. But afterwards focus your energy on getting back up to par for your current level before you get to thinking about the next one.
