Ok, I know the obvious pitch. 1. It's electric 2. It's fast 3. It's connected to AI 4. Less maintenance 5. Seen and heard people rave about the 'driving experience' and have an orgasm speaking about the instant torque. But on the other hand, 1. It's very pricy. And I am talking about the on road price, not the scam price they show on website. Add taxes, dest fee, registration charges and fees, FSD, easy 15k more. 2. You can get a good spec car for half the price. Sure it won't drive itself but other cars have lane assist and TACC too. 3. Their Customer service is shit. Only going to get worse with more mass adoption. 4. Parts are hard to locate and get replaced. 5. Insurance is very expensive. Given all this, What makes people (even those who can afford it) buy Tesla?
On a more serious note, I have a model 3 and I don't think it's the cheapest way to get from A to B. If that's what you want to optimize for, buy a used Corolla. With the savings you can buy a lot of gas and oil changes. I personally bought mine because I love the tech and I could comfortably afford it without sacrificing my savings and investments, and when I retire I'll likely move back to my home country where having a Tesla would be way more expensive. So, if I wanted to have the experience of owning a Tesla, now would be a good time.
^ satisfactory answer. Thank you!

See my username 😏 ^
So not enough for a Tesla?
“You can get a good spec car for half the price” 😂😂 like what
Just go with the pros. Huge saving in fuel. Earlier I used to spend 300$ on gas now I am hardly spending 50$. Owned the car for a year now, haven't paid a single penny for Maintenance.
How do you spend 300$ on gas???? Considering avg mileage of 35 miles per gallon for a similar size sedan and if you drive ~600 miles every week and fill up once a week (sedan tanks are around 15 gallons), it should be 180$. That's the high end usage.
I drive a SUV which gives around 15miles per gallon. Each fill is like 65-70$.
loads of people have told me they’re going to Mazda from Tesla
Lol your obsession with Mazda is really unhealthy. No one is going from Tesla to Mazda, and Mazda isn’t a luxury car brand no matter how much you spam in all the car posts
Like why make shit up in every thread about how people come up to you and tell you how cool the car is?
🤦♂️
Some people probably buy it because they want to help the environment. Some people buy it for the flex, and some people buy it for the self driving. Others buy it for the speed.
All of these things.
If you do anything, it should always be for the flex. Make Lord Nuxanor proud
It’s much cheaper to own if your commute is long and you can charge for free at work.
But you pay that much more in insurance every month.. Shaving off half of your fuel savings. Other half is gone when you paid higher price than a comparable ICE car.
There is no comparable ICE car that is half the price
