I'm a single working professional guy in Silicon Valley. I'd like to get people's thoughts, feedback, stories and/or experiences with dating and meeting potential romantic partners (i.e. wife, GF, hookups, etc) -- I've dated a bit over the last few years through just meeting people and using dating apps, but right now I'm single and am starting to feel the want for a long term relationship in the coming 1-2 years. Right now I'm free as a bird and enjoying it, but internally I really feel the need to have my partner who I can love and share my life with. Additionally, most other guys I see around me are nowadays facing a ton of challenges even talking to women in general, and I'd like to understand what people in successful relationships or that are dating successfully (however you want to define that) did or do to achieve meeting those that fulfill them. Please feel free to share any tips, tricks or advice for helping us single guys in Silicon Valley out there -- hope this can be a helpful thread to all!
Move or date chubby girls. Ignore advice from women.
yuck
Los Gatos.
I think dating apps. All my girl friends are using it. Meet a lot of people, and statistically it should converge.
make small conversations with women you run into during the day.
Start a conversation and bring sine laughter...
Get non-blurry good profile photos and stop it with the sun glasses or blurry travel pics. Stop posing with dogs and babies and say “not mine” annoying af. Don’t post photos of you half naked unless you just want to hook up. After that once you match on tinder, message her first (just say something witty none creepy or just say “you’re so pretty can I take you out to dinner”). You have to shell out some money here. This process ain’t free.
Just stop being a pussy and ask a girl out to lunch or something just casually “as friends” or “coworkers” and if she takes it well, ask her to dinner. It doesn’t have to be creepy. If you aren’t sure the girl likes you ask people around you to observe your body language when interacting and give their opinions.
Lower your standards, the demand/supply situation dictates a different equilibrium than in other places.
