It’s all client dependent. I hate my life right now every day. I’m drowning and my mental health has never been worse. I legit go on here every day for exit ops because I need to be saved lol
I were in your situation 2 years ago. Hang in there dude
Depends totally on team especially how understanding is your manager with your work.
Depends on environment you are into .some project makes people clock 18 hours per day while others actually need 2-3 hours per day.
Great WLB. Tons of PTO. You’re never ever going to find the ideal situation until you’re retired, but you can get close by figuring out what you love to do, and find a way to do as much of that as possible. Don’t get triggered by personalities and things you can’t control and the days will be largely good.
Tc?
Depends on project
Worked at Deloitte for half a decade before I left a year or so back. - Not worth the money you get paid (you get paid 🥜 compared to tech) - if you’re at Bloomberg and tech role, try tech companies - sucky WLB for me for most of my time there - Directors hold a 🥕 over your head all the time and if you’re ambitious, you’ll fall prey to it - PTO’s and holidays were great but people barely cared about Mental health - travel benefits were great but lasted until end of 2019 tbh. They have been suspended for a while now - I was in a pretty senior role. I still have most of these concerns that a BTA would have as the culture itself was toxic, especially in GPS
LOL @ half a decade… trying to make it sound longer than it really was… was your senior role senior consultant?
More like Senior manager. 5 years = Half a decade. Should have sat for classes during elementary school
It depends on client, position & Manager. Overall not so great WLB.
I was there for 7 years in GPS. Like everyone said- it’s all team dependent for WLB. For the most part it was good. But it’s a very up or out culture. Everyone is always striving to be “perfect” which caused me a ton of stress. But it was great for exit opps. Wherever I interview / go - people already trust my work because I came from Deloitte. And if you’re early in your career you will learn a ton

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
I'm sure it's dependent on the team, but I work in the GPS practice and love it. WLB is great, especially since we're WFH. The client is easy to work with and the Deloitte team is close-knit.
How is the GPS practice? I tried to join a while back and it seemed like it was difficult to get in unless you have prior experience.
