Some companies HR usually ask for a salary expectation number in first call itself. I am not sure if its a right time to discuss salary. If you say a number which is high for the company, there are chances resume won’t be forwarded for next rounds. If you say low number, thats what you get when you get offer. Salaries on Glassdoor doesn’t feel right. I usually say I would like to discuss that on later stages. Not sure what is the right approach. Please guide.
Comp for one level higher than you expect to get on Glassdoor.
Give a range and put the bottom of the range at what you really want and think is market rate
I am moving to a new company, but this will be my 1st FT job. I have 2yrs of internship experience. How do I negotiate in this case?
I recently got rejected from Amazon last round Software Cloud Engineer. They told me to reapply. Do you think I can reapply and get an interview?
Thanks!
> If you say a number which is high for the company, there are chances resume won’t be forwarded for next rounds yes that’s the point. what’s wrong with that? saves everyone’s time

Recruiter’s are legally obligated in CA to disclose the job level and base compensation range. Usually they try to squeeze you at median. For example if the say range is 140-200k, then they try to start base from 170k but they don’t go more than 80% which is 180
Market rate
