How government can stop layoffs?

These layoffs will not end if the government does not step in. The solution can be introducing public alternatives to Google , Instagram, and Amazon. Introducing public alternatives could provide users with more choices, ensuring a diverse and competitive digital environment. By promoting healthy competition, these platforms can drive innovation and prevent monopolistic practices that might stifle market growth. Moreover, the establishment of government-backed platforms could lead to additional employment opportunities. This not only addresses concerns about monopolies but also contributes to economic balance by creating jobs in the public sector. It opens avenues for talent and innovation that align with public interests. We need the government to step in and balance the market. If that happens, with increased competition for labor, tech giants will have to keep and cherish their employees instead of firing them with midnight emails.

I understand you mean well, but that's a really terrible idea. (And with all the empathy I have for those laid off, they are far from being our most suffering demographic... they are still far better than most)

Horrific idea. Anything the federal government touches turns to shit. So hell no.

Any company that lay of workers should be Bann from employing foreign workers for the next ten years until they extend an offer to all employees affected by layoffs. You cannot lay-off people then turnaround saying their is labor shortage. Meta hiring H1B and visa workers after laying off thousands of employees, it is beyond ridiculous.

Anti-trust and funding for startups. Tax for foreign employees.

Agree with the problem, but your solution is terrible. There just needs to be a higher cost for layoffs, so that companies think twice before hiring and think trice before laying off. Right now they’re allowed to seize the opportunity quickly and then layoff too easy.
