I was an intern at Amazon this summer and did not receive a return offer. Previously I interned at Fidelity Investments and received a return offer. After not receiving a return offer from Amazon for next summer, what are my general prospects at other companies with these past internships on my resume? This is my first post so don’t be too harsh, thank you!
It doesn't look too good but also doesn't matter too much if your interviews go fine. I would put more thoughts on what they didn't give you return offer and anything that you need to improve.
Ur doomed bro. Apply to the nearest McDonald's. Jk, you're going to do just fine. Maybe they just didn't have enough headcount to warrant extending an offer to you. Seems possible given the current economic outlook.
Oh man, no offer from a summer internship? That’s it, your career is over. Pack your bag and sign up for trade school!
Clear sarcasm. You’ll be fine. Don’t have to disclose if you received it or not, and you can always lie. A job is just that, a job.
Depends on your reaction. Take the lessons, prepare for interviews, have a great story, get into a great company and don’t look back.
A return offer is a two way thing. It can always be that you did not think it was a culture fit for you, its Amazon no one is going to raise an eyebrow if you dont want to return and want to explore other options..Again control your narrative, this can mean anything you want it to mean.
"oh, why didn't you go back to Amazon?" -> "I considered it, but I wanted to get broader exposure with experience doing XYZ and I really didn't think I was going to get it in that role"
You interned at Amazon. If you perceive the world as a bunch of 500k+ jobs at fang, well it'll take some work but you can achieve great success. If you see the world as a huge distribution of SWE/IT/computer related jobs across countless fields, you're absolutely crushing it already. Perspective matters
Doesn't really matter. Make sure that you're well prepared for interviews and able to land any company. Source: Me
Just say that you would like to work on a different product, company, team. Chances are you can also interview with another team at Amazon. For other companies, Prep your best for the interviews and you are golden!
shouldn't matter too much , you can even say you rejected the offer, whose gonna check, even if they do so what it's the same as not passing full time interviews at other companies.
