Some threads here said 110 is min. Not sure if there's a single standard test. This is what I got: Wechsler IQ: 90-113 (Average to High Average) Mensa Luxembourg IQ Test: Some likelihood of becoming Mensa member (20 correct answers out of 33) - this test doesn't provide an IQ number IQ test.com: 133 Worth starting with leetcode or move on to something else? Other traits: Decent problem solver and coder as long as I'm on high caffeine Somewhat dyslexic Detail oriented (and able to uncover unusual edge cases) Have had some difficulty with continuous math in school but far better at discrete Prefer approximation over exactness Creative Prefer to first write down things on paper before coding (unable to code without developing a conceptual mapping in mind) Better than average ability to identify and coordinate through the shortest path to recovery during firefighting (say, a high impact production failure) Ability to very quickly assimilate new stuff and how different systems play together At crossroads in my life to choose between: working on a business idea or focusing 100% on LC and try to get a FAANG/Msft job. Currently a software dev in a no name company, BS in CS, 32 yrs old, 9 yrs of similar exp at average or below average companies. Any input appreciated!
IQ tests are bullshit.
Which is why I never took one
Wut?
I think you’re in great shape. Study leetcode and you’ll be in FAANG no doubt.
Thx!
Feynmanns was lower and he made a big bomb, you can make one too
FAANG is ez if u leetcode enough
IQ isn’t that important. I’m sure you’re more than smart enough! It’s just a mental barrier since you’ve been “out of the club”, and it all becomes a personal challenge to break into FANG. You can do it! Just takes dedicated practice, and trial and error
Thanks, exactly what I've been assuming... Just a week old in Blind and I think the haze is clearing up...
We only hire 130 and above in my group.
Practise + experience. You just need to be coding all the time :)
Jeff Dean’s IQ is lower than many coworkers of mine who are SDE 1. We need to promote these high IQ or high leetcode achievers over him. (Sarcasm)
I worked with an amazing programmer who was blind. You don't need to be an amazing programmer to work at meme companies
