Like think about it. If Spotify wants someone to sign up in-app, they have to take a 30% revenue hit? Whereas Apple can sell Apple Music subscriptions directly with no revenue hit? I can’t think of a clearer example of using your position in one market to create an unfair advantage in another market. Apple’s response: “Apple connects Spotify to our users. We provide the platform by which users download and update their app. We share critical software development tools to support Spotify’s app building. And we built a secure payment system — no small undertaking — which allows users to have faith in in-app transactions. Spotify is asking to keep all those benefits while also retaining 100 percent of the revenue.” Like we have a choice to not use your infrastructure you greedy dumbfucks????
They also block their updates/fixes for weeks. Pretty fucked up, but hard to prove, cause everything is within tos.
It would be reasonable to charge maybe 5%
Because nothing is preventing Spotify from signing up users on its own website.
Apple won’t let Spotify redirect users to Spotify’s website. Spotify can’t even hint at it or the release gets blocked. That’s literally all Spotify wants to do: timetoplayfair.com
I’ve known about the 30% cut for years. Because of that I just bought Apple stock.
Cool
That's a reasonable response from Apple. If they don't like it they can ask people to sign up on their website.

Damn you guys are getting hustled
Wow Spotifo is really mad at Apple lol. Spotifo did Apple reject u? Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Amazon does the same thing, Amazon basics is borne out of successful small business data that Amazon gets and does not share with the small businesses who worked hard to find a niche only for Amazon to go copy it. Life is unfair, deal with it.
The strange thing is that they don't get investigated by the EU, considering they sue Google and Microsoft for these sort of practices all the time. Wonder what's going on there.
What does google charge?
Apple will just complain that they need to do this or their users won't want to use their products anymore! It's the "Apple tax" that everyone has to pay to keep the wheels turning, obviously! You dumb government people wouldn't understand. If it wasn't obvious: /s
