Unlike Facebook, it doesn’t notify you when someone likes your comment. They don’t have a system of badges like Reddit, except for the top contributor badge whose incentive I don’t quite get. I may have missed identifying the “stickiness” factor of this product. Any thoughts? Tc 92k YOE 6 #productsense
Top Contributor badge? Number of likes in last 3 months? Number of likes this month?
Stickiness comes from: 1. Being able to shit on people and vent the frustration of working for 🥜 2. Being able to relate with day to day problems without the feeling of being judged by people you know 3. Understanding that everyone is looking for something and no one is truly happy. So coming here and realizing that “things could be worse” is something that drives return to the app
This^ + tactics like those are helpful and will help increase engagement and retention, but the real retention comes from 1) intrinsic needs 2) value proposition - talking about your biggest fears and deep issues in your psyche. Though the audience might not be the most qualified in responding to every query but atleast we have a nonjudgmental ear and most banter is in good fun and even if poor it’s anonymous.
Agree Agoda
By having a curated user base which is 1000x more valuable than those other things. I actually read comments here because they can be insightful and it's entirely people in the industry and in the know.
We all need an 'anonymous' place to vent out, have dick measurement contest, reinforce our biases towards employers, find motivation from others' TC, massaging fragile self worth. It used to be great place to talk about things beyond TC, not anymore. Exponential growth brought crowd with very narrow worldview and short sighted FOMO driven posts. (Promotion, $$$, perks, swags). I miss old folks and intriguing debates.
Connecting with people at companies you are considered to get all the dirty details answered TCs Help and tips for LC and DSA, mock buddies, etc This app sticks because it has real value for many people, not bullshit social media gimmicks
Anonymous, ask questions of a collective you can’t ask anywhere else, TC or GTFO, compare yourself, see what’s possible
Lot of people doing the needful
Being anonymous and sharing things related to compensation :) two big great reasons.
