It is definitely not a blood sucker like 🍎
Pretty sturdy. I threw my Pixel on Google Home and energy generated is running my house electricity.

It's great, not as much pay as SW ladders but great travel perks, Max stays in Asia of 2 weeks, great management. Teams are very connected and enjoyable. Regularly getting over target for bonuses.
I can talk only for PgM but I love the culture. It's so freaking chaotic because google is too new in this field but that means you can make a big impact if you know what you are talking about. Also love the diversity. Google hardware is bringing people from so many different industries across the regions. It definitely helps us see from different angles.
I am looking for such roles, have vast experience and can bring lot on table. Do you have any openings for project/ program mgmt? Also can you refer me?
I don't know what your background is but I can speak only for operations side. I think there are several openings. Go check out Google Careers and let me know if you find one that fits you!
I’ve heard horror stories from Pixel hw engineers. Not enough people. Google hiring process is a bottle neck to getting more engineers hired quickly enough. My friends are miserable for having left their previous jobs and say the money and free food are not worth it. Many ex-Apple making the culture not Googley.
^ I agree with not enough people part. WLB sucks at least for my team. It's pretty usual to work 12 hours a day. But I still love it.
Do they happen to compensate you for that?
I am too new to the team to speak about the compensation. My primary drives for the work are just my motivation and ambition. Sorry I can't answer your question! But I hope they do...?!? Lol
I've been working with HW on supply chain side of the business since the inception of madebygoogle devices. Tbh there is a huge room for growth although if you are not at the position of VP or even director there is very least you can do. I've seen many issues so far but it is very hard to implement the ideas you have. I guess this is because most of the decisions come from Rick also there is no visibility across the cross functional teams - even the direct relationship ones. If you can climb the ladder and reach to higher position there is a huge scope.
I've expressed my concerns here and got some great feedback imo. https://us.teamblind.com/s/kFqgqvng
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed reading your post and comments.
