It was discovered by the Germans in 1904
It's a big metro area, downtown isn't really the center of anything. I wouldn't live in or visit downtown, so many other interesting neighborhoods.
Like?
La Jolla
Single and like to go out? Pacific Beach Like to hang out with rich people? La Jolla Ever wanted to be a Navy SEAL? Coronado
Meh - small
I second that
As others said, pick a scene. PB for young beach bar area, downtown for snazzy places, La Jolla for highend, South/North Park for some hipster coffee shop scene, etc. If you are visiting and expect beach, sun and views stay away from downtown.
Temperate
San Diego (like much of Seattle) still doesn’t believe in air conditioning - even in restaurants. 🤮 Go now, but avoid it in the summer.
Coastal SD doesn’t need AC, temp is usually 72F
It does in the summer.
Isn’t San Diego the most amazing place if you are conservative in California? Lot of military women and Eastern Europeans there tbh. They are super amazing , conservative unlike the woke liberals in SF
There are no conservatives in woke paradise California.
San Diego has lot of military people. They are mostly conservative
Texas is a lot better than overpriced liberal CA.
San Diego is not that liberal
