Cyber truck killer: Chinese version of EV truck
I’m working on gratitude with my therapist. I’m reminding me that how lucky I’m being in tech industry and making above average wages to afford my living in bay area. Althougy I’m still feeling poor and can’t afford a house, but I’m still thankful. How is life for non-tech workers? How do you afford living? Can you save any money? Or do you live pay check to pay check? What are the things you cannot afford? I’m having anxiety to be booted from tech because of my age is getting older and need to drive Uber for rest of my life, how would i afford living here? Age discrimination is a real threat in tech industry and we’ll face it once we get older. Unless I get enough savings to retire early, I need to find a an alternate career path. TC: 350 YOE: 8
What. Like am I the only one who didn’t understand this post at all?
Yes
Dude delete this post please . Maybe one of the most condescending things I’ve ever seen
yeah, OP is an idiot. please excuse him/her.
Nah, he’s having his mid life crisis right now.
Not all non tech is paid peanuts. Independent Real estate agents get 2ish% commission on each sale.
I’m interested in hard working middle class jobs.
This is cringe
Are you seriously having concerns about being too old with 8 YOE? ffs
Only tech people and homeless can survive here
A better question is why would anyone live in the Bay Area if it wasn’t for the big TC. It’s mostly crap and the weather isn’t as good as people say.
Family ties, social circle, maybe divorced and has kids here, older parents? Or just being close to tech? As you go cheaper areas, wages are getting lower as well. My brother is in miami and only making 12/hr
At some point though it’s a value equation and there is a big world out there.
You have 350K TC, excellent 401K G benefits and are talking about having to drive uber to make ends meet in the future? In the future there will be no Ubers for you to drive bro. Go find a financial counselor. Jeez.
I’m maxing out my 401k, IRA and IRA backdoor. Still not convinced it’s be enough for retirement given high inflationary environment. %7 a year. Your social security wages will be wiped off.
You can survive on like 50k with a house paid off in the Bay Area… don’t get into bad debts like buying useless shit and fancy cars and you should be set to retire by 45 latest..
Based on Blind I assume that SF is made up entirely of SWE making 500k+ and homeless people
lol
