I have been offered a backend senior software engineer role at splunk and might have to make a decision soon. Haven't discussed the numbers yet. I was wondering in general, is splunk considered a good company? And how is it career wise? I am a general backend swe. If I go into splunk, do you think later on I will have to limit myself in to logging, monitoring and apm domain? By going through blind threads it seems, splunk has good culture. People I interviewed with seemed nice too. Do you think company like amazon might be better career wise? More to learn and exit options are better? The only reason I haven't interviewed with them is because of the high probability of ending up in a bad team and what I have read here on blind. IBM Tc: ~140 Background: Master's with ~7 yoe
Congratulations on clearing your interviews. Which team? The culture is decent overall, but learning and growth depends on the team u end up with.
Can I please get a referral?

Phone screen : easy- medium algo qns Onsite 3 algo ds: easy-medium System design: very different than usual, interviewer created a problem or scenario - kept on asking how to do some parts of it exactly - very different way of gauging knowledge
Dont have numbers yet
Getting to principal is doable but politics really ratchets up to get to senior principal. Keep that in mind if you are in IC career growth mindset
Splunk is good, go for it
