Got a initial email from a recruiter about a engineering manager position at Meta in Production Engineering org. How is that org? Any feedback? Based on the fact about unstable leadership in PayPal, is it worth trying for Meta? Any advice for a coding interview for Manager position? TC- $300K (PreCrash) {Post crash - Dnt ask 😭😭} YoE - 15 yrs
Heavily depends on what team you join. PE is Pepsi to SRE’s Coke.
What teams are more coding heavy similar to SWE than ops to SRE?
Depends what you classify as ops, and there’s so many teams and orgs it’s hard to give a list. Some teams of PEs operate more like SWEs and have their own systems they build and run. Others embed with SWE teams, I’ve found this can either mean they have an equal seat at the table or the PEs are relegated to doing shit work and tasks. I don’t know if PE managers are pre-allocated, but when you’re interviewing ask about the team’s engagement model and what kind of work they do day to day.
Did you do the interview? How was it? I’ve just been contacted by an executive recruiter for a leadership position in the PE org. Was your recruiter also an executive recruiter? Thank you.
No I did not, how are you preparing?? PM for detail discussion ?
I like how ur are stuck at precrash
