Applied for a couple of Senior SWE jobs about 10 days ago, never heard back. Their automatic email said it can take them "a few weeks (sometimes a few months)" to respond. Is it true? How do they get any good candidates this way? Other companies either get back to me within a few days or never respond, so just wondering if I should just assume I was rejected. YOE: 6+ TC: €95
I applied June 22, got an email on July 1 saying the role closed so I don’t think they even looked at my application. Reapplied July 19 and they haven’t gotten back to me yet! I’ve since interviewed and gotten offers at FAANG and other top tier companies so I just assume it’s going into a black hole. To be fair though this was true for almost all of my job applications, I got almost no success from shooting off applications and got into the process from getting referrals, replying to recruiters on LinkedIn/email and working with VC firm recruiters
Yeah it's mostly true, sadly
Anything we can do to speed up the process considering that I’m expecting offers from other companies soon?
Wasn’t so bad for me. Took 1 week for each stage. Had a paper offer about 5 weeks after first applying. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones.
1 1/2 week for me
Took ~3 weeks for me. Just be patient, they usually at the very least send a rejection letter once the position is closed out
3 weeks, wow!
Our recruiters are notoriously bad, they don’t even reach out to people we refer. There was a big slack thread about it but still no change.
Would DMing them on LinkedIn help?
Yeah, I’d give it a try
