Been applying to places lately and some places are scheduling a second phone call. All my applications span within a week and Google was middle of that week. It was a referred application, but I haven't heard back. Any ideas how long it might take Google to process a referred application and get back to the applicant? I realize they're swamped with applications probably all the time, but at the same time, that's why I would expect an efficient structure in place to process them.
You should have at least received an email confirming that they received the referral. That part shouldn't take long at all. I assume you mean internal referral?
Yes, internal referral. Received the confirmation email right after applying. Was wondering from there, how long it would take.
Google isn't always particularly fast. But you should hear something back within a reasonable amount of time.
Took the recruiter a couple weeks to reject a candidate that I referred. Probably depends on how busy they are
If they run referrals the the same way as MSFT you should hear a response sometime between “never” and “go fuck yourself”
You wish Google did things the same way as your company.
Says the guy who doesn’t work at Google.
Recruiter will scan your resume. If they think you are worthy, they will contact you. It should take less than 2 weeks
Recruiter reached out 6mo after referral.
What makes you think they’re obligated to get back to you?
Oh, because they're quite professional. They'll send a notification saying they no longer are moving forwards with your application if you're unsuccessful. I'm not saying they have to accept me, lol. And save the attitude for Jeff. I'm not the thorn up your ass, I'm just a stranger asking a question.
