I started a new job a couple of months ago and my manager is never around. He shows up to standup and then his slack light goes off. If i have a question about benefits, leveling or anything else people managers normally handle he says he’ll get back to me and never does. I honestly think he’s coasting.
30 hrs in meetings. < 5 hrs doing actual work.
When you grow up, you’ll understand that meetings are part of their job
Thank you for your wise words. I myself attend a ton of meetings and only 30% of them contribute to getting work done. Rest of them are just redundant sync ups, stand ups, weeklies, biweeklies.
Quiet quitting?
Am I the only person who hasn’t had a lazy manager? Every one I’ve had, even the bad ones, tended to over rather than under work.
I see them in back to back meetings most of the time
Worry about yourself
It depends on the company.
I used to think you (op) till I became a interim manager. The amount of bs they have to deal with is crazy. And meetings.
My manager works crazy hours and luckily doesn’t expect her employees to do the same
