I see a lot of people saying that they are working crazy long hours(12-14+). Excluding time wasting, watching youtube speaking with cowerkers about life etc how many hours do you really work? Include designing, writing documentation, meetings, code review, writing code, mentoring.
You missed time used doing ops
leetcoding and studying adds an extra 4-5 but i think 6-7 of focused work should be good
6-7 a day. in my old job at startup, 2 hrs a day lol
Thanks for sharing. Ive just been assuming all start ups require way more hours than that. Is it a later start up or early/tiny place?
it’s been around for a while, tiny place but good culture. i was a lead so i don’t participate in sprint. but even when i did, stuff we do at start up were so easy and repetitive, no unit testing, no design review, no worry about performance, just whatever works. zero challenges.
3 hrs
This would make a good poll! Also, someone (not me) is going to ask for your TC 😉
Tc or gtfo
🤷🤷
4 hours/ day
5 hours
Around 10 but mentally 24/7

Nice! I found that this number is around the magic one for me also!
So it’s like 10+ with wasting?
