Musings (rant?) of an old timer
The personal finance stack thread is making me realize that people are pretty fiscally responsible here. Currently trying to max out Roth IRA first and then fill out 401k to reach 20% of total pre-tax income saved, every year. The rest is being spent.
250k
You guys hiring?
TC?
20% of pretax income? Enjoy retirement ;)
Not enough?
It will be plenty of money assuming you don't want to retire super early (e.g., 30s or 40s)
Wow @ 250K. Maybe like 50K
About 100k disposable cash in bank saved.
TC?
I suggest that you first take advantage of the 401k (as that will allow you to defer taxes). After you max out the 401k then add into Roth.
Was going to say this ^^
This is a debate I’ve had with many people. I just prefer Roth IRA right now first because taxes are fairly low due to the current administration. I would flip the order if/when things change. Thoughts?
Roughly a $130k total comp, but hoping to save around 30% of that. 40% going to taxes and the other 30% is to live a good life and keep myself sane
Probably save like 20% of gross comp each year
Max 401k and beyond that save about 40% of post tax income.
Wats your TC? 40% of post tax is huge
I save 30-50% pre-tax income
Christ, how’s the ramen? Jk, good on you.
Maybe he's just got a baller income.
