Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
what does having faang do to your resume? how much has it helped in ur career
Barely.. it’s knowledge that matters.. I have spent 1.5 years at Fb, 4 months at Apple, 4 Months at Google.. Finishing 4th at Uber so fang was good but wasn’t a game changer
Are you a recruiter?
Non-eng finance personnel.. Senior role..
Worked at a couple FAANG. Recruiters respond faster, take my application more seriously, and also directly reach out. Not just startups, companies like Palantir as well.
It makes you the equivalent of a hot girl on tinder when applying for jobs.
1,000 points for this guy. Honestly this analogy is spot on.
Agreed. Since I started at Google, recruiters have been coming after me like a pack of thirsty frat guys.
Amazon only helps for Seattle based companies which are basically filled with Amazonians and Microsoft engineers. Being an Amazonian has no value outside of Seattle.
I think it would depend on org. If you manage to work in AWS for a while it carries quite a lot of weight.
For one, my tinder matches have gone waaaay up, my 🍆 length has increased 15.55(repeating)%, I am now 6 ft 6 inches ripped, and I have multiple 9/10 plates (i don't believe in relationships) . Not much but it something 🤗
hey man, little things add up!
As much as any other big company. Would having BBC or Disney on your resume has less impact than Netflix? Would having Snap or TikTok less than Facebook? Don't think so. It's still about how you interview. Lots of people come from non faang background including most of us, we still got hired.
A lot, meaning I can get any interviews that I want so far. :)
Did you get offers for all of them?
High tech yes to all; HFT not all.
I've applied for a few non tech roles at TikTok, Google and amazon(I have a few big companies on my resume and FB) heard nothing. So I think it really depends on your role. If you look at LinkedIn you see a role got 2 applicants for a developer roles but 200 for brand manager.
Oh yeah. Was mostly wondering about tech roles. I don’t think having faang on resume would help much for non tech roles
You can get onsite interviews directly without a phone screen 😜
Can confirm
Can confirm - multiple different FAANG experience.
