My friend is a Uber driver. But he told me he struggles financially every time and borrowed some money from me. I am confused, does uber driver make decent income nowadays in the bay area or not? TC: peanut
Lol. Is this a serious question?
Obviously it is is domain I am not familiar with, that’s why I posted this question.
The median Uber driver is probably lucky to make minimum wage after expenses
I think it's actually the opposite, the more you drive, the less you make. Don't you make the most money during the peak hours? Your fixed costs still stay the same even if you don't work for Uber, no? Will you not have car and insurance otherwise?
My uber driver told me he made 8k/month and he didn’t take all calls
That’s why it makes it so weird that my friend complains about low pay and borrow money from me. I heard similar number in the past also.
Because they're spending 25% at least on gas and other ride-share related expenses. That leaves 6k pre-tax, which is not a lot of money in the bay.
