And do you have recommendations? Should I just buy index funds and shut up?
I feel they are a waste of money. By the way how much money you have to invest?
About 150k. Mostly I want to know should I buy a house or not
I feel buying home should be a no brainer. Forget the gains in stock market, the feeling you get in your OWN home will be better than getting double digit returns in stock market.
I pay 1.6%. I have enough other things to stress about, so paying someone that little amount is worth it to me.
That’s a lot of money in my opinion. Unless your net worth is $10 million, no point paying this.
you're completely overpaying. furthermore now your advisor has to do something to justify those hefty fees and so can't advise index funds
Vanguard retirement fund 2060 or similar
Most FA are salesman/woman in disguise and not more finically educated than you!
Go with a one time fee FA. Otherwise you'll get butthurt with 2%er funds
Exactly. Why do they deserve 1.5%. Just pay a fixed consultation fees for their time.
How much is reasonable ask though? One was telling me 12 hrs at 250 an hour. Sounded unreasonable to me
Don’t buy index funds rn But feel free to shut up
What would you buy instead?
At the risk of sounding silly: in the medium term (1-2 yrs) I’d buy promising coins in crypto like ripple, stellar and cardano. Crypto market suffered a massive correction recently so everything is selling at a significant discount. Unless if a solar flare hits the Earth any promising coin will be worth more in 2020 than it is now. Stocks are overvalued right now and deserve to correct downwards. Interest rate hikes should help with that. If you’re in it for the long term, then just buy index and DCA your way into a handsome retirement.
