Your boss offers you $xx,xxx increase in total comp a year in exchange for 10 more hours of work a week. How big does x have to be for you to accept the deal? Include your current total comp and hours worked for perspective

I do it for free
They're already indirectly paying you for it. If you work 20% more then theoretically you deliver more results earning you an 'Exceeds' or better rating, and a 20% higher comp. If you work bare minimum, you get 0% more, and a 'Meets Expectation'. ** Depends on your efficiency. If you can produce 120% results with 40 hours a week, you get the additional payout nevertheless. If you're inefficient, you gotta put in more time to get it. On average, putting in 20% more time with the same work efficiency would give you 20% more results. ** If you're young, I'd say don't worry about the time requirements and work as hard as you can. Every extra hour of work teaches you something and makes you more efficient at doing the same thing later. Write a mapreduce for an ETL pipeline, build a service or a micro service, write large complex SQL queries to build useful metrics driven dashboards, Implement a user facing feature in a product involving UI workflow. Do each of these once in your first year, and make sure you take it to the finish line and ship your work to production. You will be thankful for it later.
Depends, do I have to deliver 10 hours worth of more work? Or do I just have to sit there and look busy.

Well if I worked 10 more hours a week here, I might hit 40 hours. Rest and vest my friend
