How much is homeowners insurance in Bay Area?

Could you share the following? - sqft? - price? - has earthquake coverage? Do you have extra insurance for that?

Dropbox AustinEng Feb 10, 2019

About 2k/sqft costs me about $1,200/yr. Earthquake insurance is about the same but the deductible is really, really high. Like you're going to have to hit your 401k kind of high.

Also remember the costs to rebuild != the market price. So a (really) high deductible may not really be helping you much.

For sfh I'm currently paying 50$/month after shopping around. Doesn't cover earthquake or flooding. However not on a flood plain. It also covers full replacement costs.

What company is insuring you?

Liberty mutual

Earthquake insurance is a separate policy than homeowners insurance in California.

Do people mind to share what company is insuring you?

Real quotes are free

I know, but they ask you to provide so many details, and they will spam you and call u for life

VMware BobbleHat Feb 10, 2019

Ya, thatā€™s true. But if you are actually in the market this is the only way to see what -you- will pay for each company.

Farmers Insurance. $616.86/year for 1800 sqft single family house which I spent $1.2M. No earthquake coverage because it is too expensive and deductible is too high.
