Consumer Org, Software engineer — been with my current company almost 8 years. Get along really well co-workers and manager.. generally regarded as hard working + high performing. My questions: 1. How many weeks notice should I give? 2. Is it possible that I will be walked out the same day I give notice? 3. Does PayPal play games with regards to end of year bonus + vesting stock when you give notice? 4. Do you tell your boss where you are going when you have the talk? My start date is March 16th at Facebook.
Really? Hmm. Thanks for the suggestion. I had a co worker who gave two weeks notice but was asked to stay an extra week.. which why I wanted to not give bare minimum notice.

Chances of being walked out on the spot? My friend at Microsoft tried to give 2 weeks notice and he was walked out same day. Less experience and different company but still got me feeling a little worried

2 weeks is customary but not required. Depending on what state you're in you could be considered an at will employee that can be let go at any time. Why give them the courtesy of they won't give it to you?
