I have both new grad offers from Janestreet and Google. I really want to join Janestreet, but I’m worried about the cut throat culture. How often do people get pip at JS? Both are for SWE. Google : 220k Janestreet: 300k
How’s the promo path looking at G
What is your google offer break down?
Can’t go wrong here. You might be able to get a higher TC at google with a competing offer like that
Not really, Google won't compete with finance offers (because they can't and it's a different league).
The person doesn’t have to divulge it’s a finance offer. You can just say competitor and cross out the name if they ask for proof
JS doesn't pip
Pm me for info
Can you share both offer breakdowns?
JS for sure if you are aiming for long term TC. You will have bigger packages waiting for you at Citadel etc when you want to quit. Most ppl stay at Google for >5 years and still can't reach 300k. JS is the elite of the elites while Google is just an average elite.
Wow congrats man. How did you prepare for JS? Are you a masters or PhD? How would you rate the difficulty of the interviews?
How did you get the google offer? I thought intern conversion offers aren’t out yet?
Just go Jane street. There’s literally no competition here. If you got into google once you can get in again
Are you at JS now?
I wouldn’t count on being able to crack Google again. New grad interviews are quite different than experienced professional interviews. That being said, join Jane Street for that sweet TC 👍 what’s the tech stack that you’ll be working on?
