Have an offer from databricks and the recruiter kept saying that they only hire the best and have all ex-faang members. So how prestigious is it really?
Lol prestige = $$. How much are they offering you? Throw some numbers so we can vote
What were the interview topics?
Heard wlb is challenging
I think it depends on the org. I've heard it can be brutal in Eng but it's not the case for me.
Offer or gtfo
It's true that we mostly hire from FAANG. Not sure how that translates to prestige. I'm tired of hearing the phrase "at google we used to..."
I see where you’re coming from, but tbh I disagree on that last part. If things are tried and true, no need to reinvent the wheel.
reinventing the wheel isn't good, but sometimes those "wheels" are overcomplicated/overkill systems for the task at hand. It's worth thinking through first principles what you practically need, and if the wheel is what you need then use it; if it's overkill or on the other hand drastically insufficient, then may be better to just build something simple.
Amazon hires ~3% of applicants Databricks ~1%
meaningless comparison
Why
S tier for Eng, lower for non-Eng. I’d say A overall
Can DB employees stop voting in these polls? Cringe
What's wrong with my vote for contractor farm?
I got a call from a recruiter too. How fast do they move in the interview process?
Z tier (Amazon)
