don’t know many the top of my head, but the ones that come to mind are Automattic and spotify. I’m seriously considering moving to Asia and curious how this works. Is everything just asynchronous and I can work local hours? How does pay work? I figured I can live in a smaller city in Asia and make bank with US salary
I think pretty much all large companies adjust your compensation based on cost of labor in the city you live.
1. go to a smaller startup 2. build up some credibility 3. work from anywhere
Automattic will let you work from anywhere and they don't cut your pay if you move. The only exception is you have to be able to work in that country. So if you are going to Asia you can either be a nomad, and move every few months or get a visa that lets you work in that country
"either be a nomad, and move every few months" - would that not require work-visa? I'm curious.
It’s going vary wildly between companies. Best advice I can give is find a fully remote position that pays US salary that doesn’t know or notice you’re working internationally, they exist, US based roles. Avoid banks and defense stuff, not like they’re remote friendly anyway.
