I am looking for options to move to USA, my employer applied my H1B visa 3 times but I never got into lottery. Currently I am on deputation in Canada and working on Close work permit. I have reached a stage where work is pretty stagnant and my learning opportunities are limited, I am ready to take any new challenges. Does USA company offers L1 directly, or do you have any better suggestions to move to usa ?
L1 requires one to have worked with the company for at least a year, and companies have policies about job level for applying for L1
Get your Canada citizenship and then later you can decide if you want to move to USA. I guess Canada is much better at this point
Get an EB3 visa. Dishes done.
Do you know employer who sponsor EB3 visa?
EB1,2 and 3 are categories. Not Visa by itself. Employer has to sponsor your green card application. Pre-requiste is that you need a valid work visa in US in first place like H1, L1 or O1 etc.
You are already in Canada. It’s easy to get Canadian citizenship in a few years (takes less than 5 years from closed work permit). Then it’s much easier to move to US.
lol you know you can simply change company and not entire country for new work? 😂 Whats stopping you from getting new job in Canada or India?
As suggested by everyone here, the options are as follows: 1. Do masters. Your chances of selection in H1 lottery increases. Spouse cannot work with you being on H1 until your i140 is approved 2. Get Canadian citizenship, then you can enter US with TN visa and then convert to H1 while you are in US. TN visa needs you to have offer from US company before. Again spouse cannot work. 3. If you have spent 1 year at Infosys outside US, then you can ask your manager to apply for L1B visa (assumming you are in IC role). Spouse can work with L1 EAD. Option 1 is considered safe and easy as you are in control. Downside, you will spend time in school, there is cost involved. If you have a family, then you have to relocate them to their base country. Time taken is 1.5 years until you start to work again. Option 2 is considered better but a bit of time involved as first you need to get through express entry (if you haven't yet applied), then citizenship and then CBP officer to grant you entry. Downside is only wait time and luck. Time taken here is unknown depending on your express entry invitation letter. Best case 4 years. Option 3 is the best option provided you are able to convince your upper management to tranfer you to US among other employees.
People in the US are struggling right now. Tech sector is doing massive layoffs, and sending a lot of jobs to India. My suggestion - join one of these tech companies in India, and after 1-2 years, explore an internal transfer to the US office of that company. The internal transfer might be tough to find because jobs in the US tech dl sector are generally going down. Also suggest thinking deeply why you want to move to the US. Things aren't great here on the economy and jobs front.
Do masters thats the only and easy option
And then try to do h1b for 3 years then if not picked up lose job and move back to india There is no easy path to usa for Indians and it’s going to be a life long struggle to get green card Canada is generous on their green card, would suggest looking into getting it first and citizenship
I am the only person earning in my family, so leaving job for master is not really opt6
