I am a mechanical engineer working in automotive sector on ADAS(advanced driver assistance system) platform. Currently my role is towards testing the features of ADAS but want to get a job in development side. I am getting automated rejects, so anyone who is working in development, please give me insights. #tech #waymo #zoox #rivianautomotive #lucidmotors #ford #generalmotors #tesla #auto #autonomousvehicles #adas #selfdriving
I hear SF intersections are a good spot to break into those products. (Be careful about what you wish for)
Lol. Best comment on blind for a while.
Im in the same boat as you except more on the traffic and intelligent transportation systems side.
How do you know you’re getting automated rejects? FWIW I applied, interviewed, and got the job. Maybe apply to roles that you’re qualified for but don’t prefer, in order to get your foot in the door?
The rejections were very fast within 2 to 3 hours and with the same sentence formation in each except for the position name.
Pretty sure Greenhouse supports rejection templates even if you’re being screened by humans. Hiring is tight everywhere and like people have said, don’t take it personally and keep trying!
Industry is not hiring much so I wouldn’t take it personal. Best chance is to find another AV company also in ADAS or to pivot internally in your current company before jumping to another one
If you have valid experience that aligns with the role, you shouldn’t be getting automatic rejects.
I do not have development experience and I understand the automatic rejections. However, I want to change that and need to know how if anyone has changed from testing to development.
I understand. But, the bar is high. There’s a ton of talent that’s there in the market with the current situation. Maybe some relevant projects will help, but maybe switch to a company that has a slightly lower bar. That way you can build relevant experience. There are no shortcuts really.
If you're trying to pivot roles, I suggest you try to get some relevant experience in that new role. Any chance you can transfer internally before looking at roles outside of your company?
Considering no one wants to work at Tesla the bar is pretty low at this point Zoox is a joke
I've actually heard great things about zoox. I know a few folks who work at zoox. It's no Amazon for sure.
I know a few from the original team that got cut during the acquisition. Nice people for sure.
